Our statement
of faith

PCEC believes, among other equally Biblical truths, in the following:

I. The Bible, the Word of God, its divine, verbal, plenary inspiration and its inerrancy and infallibility as originally written; and its supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

II. One God eternally existing in three distinct Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

A. The Lord Jesus Christ:

a. His essential, absolute and eternal Deity (Phil2:6; John 1:1,14: Heb. 1:8)

b. His true and sinless humanity (1Pet. 2:22; 1 John 3:5)

c. His Virgin Birth (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:20)

d. His substitutionary, propitiatory death (Matt. 20:28; Mark 10:45, 1Tim 2:16)

e. His bodily resurrection (Acts 1:11)

f. His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19; Acts 1:20)

g. His coming again with the power and great glory (Titus 2:13; Rev. 10:11-16)

B. The Holy Spirit who shows the redeeming purpose of God the world by convicting the world of sin, of righteousness and judgment and by regenerating, uniting to Christ, indwelling, sanctifying, illuminating and empowering for service all who place complete faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 9:14; John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 2:10-11; 1 Corinthians 12:11)

III. The total depravity of Man because of the Fall (Genesis 3:10-24)

IV. Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ apart from works (Eph. 2:8)

V. The everlasting bliss of the saved and the eternal suffering of the lost (Daniel 12:2; John 5:24; Revelation 20:14; Luke 16:24-26)

VI. The real spiritual unity in Christ of all redeemed by His precious Blood (1 Corinthians 12:13; Eph. 1:4-6; 4:11-15; 5:25,26)

VII. The necessity of maintaining, according to the Word of God, the purity of the Church in doctrine and life (1 Corinthians 6:19,20; 1 Thessalonians 4.3)
